Brian's Corner

Hello! Glad you stopped in to say hi. This is the space where I get to tell you a little bit about myself, what I do, what I can offer you, those kinds of things. Let me start off by saying I am not a programmer. I do not know CGI, Perl, or C++. If a programmer is what you are looking for, there are plenty out there, several of whom work on our staff. I consider myself a designer. I taught myself HTML about two years ago, and some of my net buddies convinced me that I should make a go out of marketing my services. I am also well versed in graphics, and have a working knowledge of Photoshop. I am also on top of the latest Netscape and Explorer extensions, as well as Java and JavaScript.
I have set up a business called Javelina Web Design to construct web pages. If you are looking to get your business or organization online, I urge you to drop in at Javelina's home page. If I can't help you, I can refer you to someone who can. I am based in Phoenix, Arizona, in the "Valley of the Sun." I have been working for Dr. Maheu and Self-Help and Psychology magazine since June of 1996. I was promoted to Assistant Webmaster in December of 1997, and soon thereafter became Senior Assistant Webmaster. My job was eventually split among three people, and I now have the title of Production Manager. My duties are largely administrative, as I am responsible for oversight of all production on the 'zine, however, I am also partially responsible for website maintenance. I enjoy the work and am excited about the opportunity to get material on the Web, and hopefully pick up some business along the way. When I'm not writing web pages for Dr. Maheu or others, I am a computer technician. For an example of my work, go to this page. You can view my resume here. If you want to contact me send me e-mail.
