Procrastination...A Robber of Life
Procrastination robs us of a valuable commodity -- Time. Once time has past, it is not retrievable!!! Procrastination robs us of more than we realize at first. It causes successes to go unrealized; dreams to go unfulfilled; and opportunities to be forfeited. Only later do we understand what has taken place and then the "I could haves"; "I should haves"; "I wish I had"; and "I would have, but" becomes part of our conversation.
Time waits on no one. Time is irreplaceable. We are only in control of NOW. Why wait until tomorrow to do what you can do today? When we procrastinate, we give ourselves unfulfilled minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, and even years. It feels as though part of our life is on hold and we never accomplish what we are capable of achieving.
We procrastinate for different reasons; unsure of our ability; being told we will not succeed; lack of direction and planning; fear of failure; and even fear of success. We often listen to the reasons why we should not try rather than the reasons why we should.
We can change this behavior by knowing that TOMORROW'S NOT PROMISED. We only have TODAY. "I can do all things through Christ Jesus that strengthens me." (Phil 4:13) This passage has brought me through challenges in my life, and it will continue to take me through future challenges. Do you believe in God? Are you willing to put your faith and trust in God? Do you believe in the abilities God has given you? If so, you have the strength to MOVE FORWARD.
Live as though today was your last day. Don't allow procrastination to rob you of your dreams. It would be a shame to know that you could have, but you did not!!!!
